Following this morning’s official opening, the Festival of the Green Economy in Parma continues-as per tradition-with a Saturday packed with events.
In the morning there will be a focus on “Logistics and Mobility”: at 10:00 a.m. Vittoria Bossi, head of Asset Management at Logicor Italia, Alberto Curnis, senior researcher at the Contract Logistics Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, and Andrea Provini, chief Sustainability officer at Number 1 Logistics Group, will speak on the role of logistics real estate as a true strategic asset for transition. Following at 11:30 a.m., Paola Astegiano, project manager and technical manager at FIT Consulting, Andrea Boccardo, account relationship leader at auxiel, and Felice Giuliani, professor of Roads, Railways and Airports at the University of Parma, will talk about the sustainability of supply chains and transportation.
At 10 a.m. space will also be given to the presentation of the book “The Marketing of Subcontractors” (Post Publishers) by Maria Gaia Fusilli, editor of EmiliaPost and contributor to L’Economia del Corriere della Sera, which will be the starting point for discussing sustainability as a competitive lever in B2B together with Piacenza Catholic University lecturer Francesco Timpano. At 11:30 a.m., a window will also be opened on Green Factories, factories that guarantee near-neutrality of greenhouse gas emissions, with Confindustria Emilia President Valter Caiumi, who will dialogue with Andrea Grillenzoni, general manager of Garc, Massimiliano Mandarini, secretary of the Lombardy Green Building Council Chapter, Irene Sanesi, culture economist, BBS-pro studio, and Mirco Sperandio, account relationship leader of auxiell.
In the afternoon, at 4:30 p.m., renowned Italian chef Davide Oldani will discuss the green turn in food and the importance of sustainable food practices. At 6 p.m., renowned geologist and popularizer of science Mario Tozzi will entertain the audience with a speech on climate change. And at the same time, architect and founder of Studio Canali Associati Guido Canali, who designed the Prada headquarters in Valvigna (AR) and Pinko in Fidenza (PR) and oversaw the restoration of many historic buildings including the Palazzo della Pillotta, will speak at an event dedicated to the world of architecture entitled “Good Vibes. Nature as the soul and focus of industrial spaces.”
In the evening, at 9 p.m., Jan Olof Lundqvist, the world’s leading expert on water issues, will present the national premiere of his new book “The Perfect Storm. Water, Food and 8 Billion People” (Post Publishers) in dialogue with 2023 water ‘Nobel Prize’ winner Andrea Rinaldo and Alessandro Bratti, secretary general of the Po River District Basin Authority. Simultaneously at the Teatro Regio in Parma, there will be a performance of “Un albero, una ciaccona” by cellist Mario Brunello and plant neurobiologist and director of the International Laboratory of Plant Neurobiology Stefano Mancuso.
In addition, for the second consecutive year in the context of the Festival, the Green Book Award will be given. On Saturday, April 6 at 3 pm.00 the Readers’ Jury will select the winning book from the five finalists selected by the Scientific Jury: in contention Quello che sai sulla plastica è sbagliato (Gribaudo), by Simone Angioni, Stefano Bertacchi, Ruggero Rollini; Guarire la democrazia (Minimum Fax), by Leonardo Becchetti; Gli animali di Calvino (Treccani), by Serenella Iovino; La Groenlandia non era tutto verde (Egea), by Gianluca Lentini; Bestiario selvatico (La nave di Teseo), by Massimo Zamboni.
Sunday’s closing events of the festival
Sunday, April 7, the closing of the Festival will be entrusted to two events. At 10 a.m. in Piazza Garibaldi there will be an intergenerational dialogue entitled “The future is in our hands” between Davide Bollati, president of Davines, Francesco Mutti, ad of Mutti, and Veronica Tibiletti, professor of business economics at the University of Parma, and the youth of Parma Giovani 2027. Following at 11:30 a.m., scientific director of the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change Giulio Boccaletti will explore the importance of sustainable management of water resources, in dialogue with two promoters of the Parma Giovani 2027 project.
How to participate in events
All events are free admission. Seats in the hall are limited: to be guaranteed access, you must register for the event at https://www.greenweekfestival.it/. To proceed with registration, choose the appointment of your interest within the “Program” section and follow the directions. In any case, for those registered online , access to the hall is guaranteed only by showing up at least 10 minutes before the start of the event; any unused seats will be made available to those who register on-site.
